I'm horrendous with watercolor! Still not great at it which is why I don't pick it up often haha, but it's taught me that it's okay to make something for the sake of beauty itself. Profound as always, Kayla 🥰

As they say, it's about the enjoying the journey rather than the outcome. So much easier said than done!

Kayla, I loved reading this post! I’m actually drafting a post right now about how baking sourdough has helped me with my fear of not being good at something right away. Those childhood “failures” really stick with you though—for me, it was being the worst at the Presidential Fitness Test 😅

Wow, what great timing for me to publish this post, then! Are you still determined to learn how to make sourdough breads? I commend your resilience in the face of things that don't come easily right away. I've never heard of a Presidential Fitness Test, but now I'm intrigued! If it includes fitness, I probably would've been the worst at it right alongside you. ;)

I’m glad to hear I’m not alone in it. Are there any techniques or practices you’ve used to silence the doubts lately?

Maybe it’s been getting used to the sound of my own voice. It’s when the worship leader starts the song and then the power goes out (as it does occasionally where I live in Kenya) and you can’t hear the leader or the instruments anymore and you hear your own voice singing. Acapella is powerful. Maybe we just need more acapella in our life.

I spent so much of my childhood singing in acapella choirs and ensembles. That speaks to me too. Thank you for adding your thoughts, Tohru!
